The first Robotics Department among top-ten engineering schools, the University of Michigan Robotics Department works together to create smart machines that serve society. With a new undergraduate robotics major, alongside masters and PhD graduate programs, students and faculty conduct groundbreaking robotics research in sensing, reasoning, acting, and interacting with humans, with impacts in manufacturing, transportation, medicine, rehabilitation, marine robotics, aerial and space systems, human-robot interaction and robot teams, legged robotics, manipulation, artificial intelligence and safe autonomy. Michigan Robotics is working to create future where robotics is a force multiplier for achieving our goals and positively impacting society.
