Lake Superior State University (LSSU) is one of few universities in the USA that offers Bachelor’s degrees in Robotics Engineering and Mechatronics with a concentration in industrial robotics. The Robotics Engineering program is 1 of 10 nationally accredited programs in the USA (accredited by ABET).

LSSU also offers Engineering programs in Mechanical, Computer, and Electrical Engineering with the option for students to specialize in robotics in these programs.

Training is provided in industrial robots (FANUC and KUKA), mobile robots (MiR), collaborative robots (FANUC and UR), machine vision systems, PLCs (Allen-Bradley), simulation software, robot safety, and systems integration in a multi-million dollar robotics lab.

In addition to industrial robotics, LSSU also has a strong focus on mobile and autonomous robotic systems. Students gain hands-on experience with autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), unmanned surface vehicles (USVs), and multi-robot systems.

Graduates have nearly 100% placement in robotics OEM companies, systems integration companies, and manufacturing organizations using automation.

For over 40 years, LSSU holds a special niche in the nation preparing robotics professionals for the automation industry.
