You’ve been to Automate. You know the drill and what to expect. But if you’re curious about what’s new this year or if it’s been a bit since you last attended, this Automate 2026 returning attendee guide has you covered.
Automation technology is evolving. Our show floor is growing, and new experiences are being added. We have a new roundup of keynote speakers, industry experts, educational programming, and so much more.
Here’s everything you need to know to return to Automate like the pro you already are:

AUTOMATE EXPANDS IN CHICAGO
Automate 2025 was a record-breaking year in Detroit, and we’re anticipating Chicago to be even bigger with over 1,000 exhibiting automation companies. The show floor expands into TWO halls at McCormick Place this year, featuring more industrial automation solutions and educational programming than any previous Automate.
The South Building includes a mix of industry leaders and innovators that you’re used to finding at Automate. You’ll see companies like Schneider Electric, Siemens, Harmonic Drive, Ericsson, Standard Bots, FANUC, EPSON Robots, Universal Robots, Gather AI, and Yaskawa. It's packed, it's buzzing, and it's worth every minute.
The North Building is new to this Automate. Think of it as the other half of the industry story. It's where you'll find the Education Pavilion, the Startup Pavilion, the AMR Demo Area, the Innovation Stage, and the Integrated Solutions Center. From exploring career paths to emerging technologies, this hall is all about seeing automation at work — and putting it to work for you.
REMINDER: Entrances to the Show halls are across from each other on the main concourse. Be sure to build both into your plan and give yourself time to get between them, especially during peak hours.
When it comes to fueling up during your visit, you can choose between nearby restaurants or on-site McCormick Place food options. Our Chicago guide has recommendations for both, plus some fun ideas if you’re staying for longer or looking for team or client networking events.

WHAT’S NEW AT AUTOMATE 2026
A lot has changed in automation since your last visit. Automate 2026 reflects that. Here are the additions you don't want to miss.
Keynote Speakers
Every year, Automate brings in voices that set the tone for where the industry is going. This year's lineup is no different. See who is taking the stage this year (spoiler: it’s good!) and remember to snag your seats early. The keynotes run each morning at 9 AM CDT, and seats go fast.
Humanoid Robot Pavilion
The all-new Humanoid Robot Pavilion sponsored by NVIDIA is one of the most exciting additions to our show floor. As humanoid technologies continue to expand and evolve, we want to keep you at the forefront of what’s working and what’s emerging for industrial applications. Part of your free show registration, the pavilion features exhibiting companies and thought leaders paving the way for human-robot collaboration.
Humanoid Robot Forum
Want to dive deeper into the development, deployment, and commercialization of humanoid technologies? The Association for Advancing Automation (A3), the producer of Automate, is hosting the Humanoid Robot Forum at this year’s event. Count on eye-opening sessions and conversations around what’s real and what it means for your industry. Note: There is an additional cost to attend this forum, unless you have an All-Access Conference pass.

Automate Conference Agenda
Hundreds of sessions. Multiple topic paths spanning robotics, AI, machine vision, supply chain, workforce development, digital transformation, and more. If you've attended before, you know how valuable these sessions can be at every level of your automation journey and/or career. Browse the agenda to see what’s new for 2026.
REMINDER: The early bird gets the worm — or the best rate. If you’re planning to attend the Automate Conference, register before prices go up on May 12, 2026.
A3 NextGen Theater
The Education Pavilion is growing with the addition of the A3 NextGen Theater (booth #32054). This new stage features speaker sessions on advancing education for future automation career paths and on building talent pipelines to attract the next generation. Expect real lessons from real professionals who have cracked the code.
Automate Student Challenge
If you were at Automate 2025 in Detroit, you may have seen this one. If Chicago was your last show, you haven't. The Student Challenge lets middle and high school teams show off their skills in robotics and automation. Each day, different teams take on a different challenge for anyone to see. Check the schedule and carve out time.
REMINDER: You can purchase conference passes or tickets for special events at any time, even on the show floor. Simply update your registration through the website or your original confirmation email.
