TriEye: Scalable SWIR Sensing for the Future of Automation TriEye is a pioneer in the semiconductor industry, specializing in the development of innovative sensing solutions based on Short-Wave Infrared (SWIR) technology. While traditional infrared sensors have historically been expensive and difficult to manufacture, TriEye has achieved a global breakthrough by developing the world’s first CMOS-based SWIR sensor. This allows the company to produce high-definition (HD) SWIR cameras at a mass-market scale using standard semiconductor fabrication processes. By moving away from exotic, high-cost materials, TriEye has reduced the cost of infrared sensing by several orders of magnitude. Crucially, TriEye’s technology is no longer just a concept; our sensors are currently in mass production, ready for high-volume industrial integration. The CMOS Advantage in Machine Vision In Machine Vision, the ability to operate under diverse environmental conditions is paramount. Traditional visible-light cameras often fail when faced with common industrial challenges such as thick dust, steam, smoke, or poor lighting. TriEye’s SWIR technology provides "enhanced vision" that penetrates these obscurants with ease. This ensures that production lines and inspection systems maintain maximum uptime and reliability, regardless of the atmospheric conditions on the factory floor. Beyond environmental resilience, TriEye’s SWIR sensors offer unique capabilities for Material Identification. Because SWIR light interacts with the chemical properties of objects, it can detect moisture levels, distinguish between different types of polymers, and identify contaminants that are completely invisible to standard RGB cameras. This makes it an indispensable tool for non-destructive quality control, food safety, and precision sorting in automated facilities. Empowering Industrial Robotics For Robotics, TriEye serves as the critical "eye" for autonomous navigation and interaction. As Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs) and automated forklifts move into more complex, unstructured industrial spaces, they require reliable sensing that does not falter. TriEye’s HD-resolution sensors allow robots to perceive their surroundings with extreme clarity, even in total darkness or through glaring reflections that would blind traditional sensors. The compact size and low power consumption of the TriEye sensor allow for seamless integration into robotic arms and small-scale mobile platforms. This enables robots to perform complex tasks such as high-precision picking, obstacle avoidance, and human-robot collaboration with a level of reliability previously unavailable in the industrial market. A Powerhouse of Innovation Founded in 2017 and built upon a decade of nanophotonics research led by CTO Prof. Uriel Levy at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, TriEye is driven by a deep bench of technical talent. Of our 80 employees, more than 60 are dedicated to Research and Development. Our multidisciplinary team includes PhDs and engineers specializing in physics, chemistry, and electro-optics, alongside experts in VLSI, hardware, and algorithm design. This internal expertise spans the entire technology stack - from underlying photonics to embedded software. By controlling the development process from end to end, TriEye ensures its SWIR solutions are optimized for the rigors of the industrial sector. We are proud to showcase this mature, mass-produced technology at Automate, providing the industry with the vision it needs to achieve true, reliable autonomy.
