Ajile supplies the DepthScan Inspection Platform, a configurable 3D dimensional inspection system for manufacturers who need verification at production speed. The same software runs every cell type in the catalog, so a customer can start with a single offline scanner relieving a CMM bottleneck in the metrology lab and grow to a fully inline cell with five auto-focus cameras around a conveyor, delivering 100% in-line inspection without changing the toolchain.

The platform is organized around five cell types. A single DepthScan unit operates as a standalone metrology-lab scanner or near-line offline check. A Multi-DepthScan cell positions multiple cameras around the part for full coverage without repositioning. A turntable cell rotates the part automatically for full 360-degree capture. A robot-mounted cell carries DepthScan on the arm for high-mix or geometrically complex setups. A combined robot-plus-turntable cell delivers maximum flexibility for variable lines. Each cell can be deployed offline in a metrology lab, beside the line for rapid first-article feedback, or fully inline with the conveyor stopping for a two-second scan and pass/fail in under a second.

The software is built around a clear separation between authoring and execution. In Setup Mode, a metrology engineer defines the inspection by choosing CAD-based or golden-model reference, selecting either the native PolyWorks plugin or the Ajile software suite as the measurement tool, configuring tolerances and GD&T, and validating with a test inspection. In Execution Mode, an operator runs the recipe through a simple start/stop/pause interface, enters a serial number per part, and watches each result populate a pass/fail dashboard. A full batch can be exported as a single or per-part inspection report and uploaded to the customer's measurement database. The native PolyWorks plugin is key because metrology teams already running PolyWorks keep their existing CAD recipes, GD&T workflows, report formats, and PolyWorks DataLoop to keep the whole organization up to date. DepthScan simply slots in as a capture and processing device rather than a parallel toolchain.

The hardware-and-software combination is differentiated by 30-micron accuracy, 4 million color point captures per scan, auto focus optics that switch working distances electronically rather than requiring lens swaps, and on-part deviation reprojection. The reprojection capability uses the same projector that captured the surface to paint the CAD deviation map, or any measurements and annotations directly onto the physical part. Operators see error on the part itself rather than on a monitor, which collapses the feedback loop on the production floor and gives QA engineers a tangible artifact for review at the cell.

DepthScan is designed to bridge the gap between sample-based QC and full inline verification. A manufacturer evaluating a CMM bottleneck can deploy a single offline cell in their metrology lab, validate the recipe, then scale the same software stack into a beside-line or inline cell when volume justifies it. Mixed-part lines are handled by the same recipe; the platform inspects springs through throttle bodies through machined housings with no fixturing change, only a different CAD or golden-model reference. The inspection investment scales with the production reality, not against it.
