Case Study: Great Dane x Acieta
Robotic Press Brake Automation Improves Throughput and Safety for Great Dane
Great Dane partnered with Acieta to address labor challenges and ergonomic risk within a manual press brake operation.
Prior to automation, each 120-pound part required two to three operators to handle and averaged approximately five minutes per cycle. The physically demanding process contributed to ongoing ergonomic exposure and high turnover.
To improve safety and production performance, Great Dane implemented a robotic press brake tending cell. The automated system reduced cycle time from approximately five minutes to one minute while transferring heavy part handling responsibilities from operators to the robot.
As a result, quality and repeatability stabilized, and team members were reallocated to higher-value assembly tasks. The project delivered measurable gains in throughput while reducing ergonomic risk and supporting workforce retention.
