The Cleveland Clinic BioRobotics Lab is part of a research institute that has developed a turn-key solution which provides a software product to integrate with any robot, and any sensors to perform real-time, force-feedback, control with no offline programming required. Their commercial product, simVITRO®, was originally developed to execute 6 degree-of-freedom, biomechanical testing on cadaveric joints, with the purpose of investigating the effects surgeries and surgical techniques on joint mechanics. Since the launch of simVITRO®, the BioRobotics team have been approached with interest to utilize the functionality of simVITRO® to perform product testing, and manufacturing procedures that require real-time force feedback control, such as grinding, polishing and assembly. The Cleveland Clinic BioRobotics lab is looking for industrial partners who would benefit from simVITRO technology and would be interested in a collaboration.
